Our Vision

We envision a new model of housing and community development, where outside real estate developers and speculators are not in control, but where a vibrant non-speculative, permanently affordable, housing sector exists that consists of public housing, non-profit housing, shared-equity housing, and limited-equity housing controlled by residents & the communities in which they reside.

Our Mission

The Fair Development Roundtable's mission is to coordinate and integrate the work of FDR members into a unified movement that will promote and facilitate social change. FDR members understand that individuals cannot create widespread social change on their own. Competition among non-profits over limited public and private resources contributes to a fragmented system that does not meet housing need in Baltimore, particularly among those with low or no income. However, as a collaborative, FDR members can pool resources and advocate to implement an agenda of systemic change and realize our shared values and vision.
